Overfire

To subject ceramic ware to a firing temperature that is too high or for a duration that is too long for the specific clay body or glaze. This process can lead to undesirable effects such as warping, blistering, excessive vitrification, or a dulling of glaze colors. Overfiring can compromise the structural integrity and aesthetic qualities of the finished ceramic piece.
