Underfired

Describing a ceramic piece that has not been subjected to sufficient heat or duration during the firing process. This condition results in incomplete vitrification, making the clay body porous, brittle, and susceptible to water absorption. Underfired glazes may appear dull, powdery, or fail to adhere properly to the ceramic surface.
