Landing gear

The undercarriage of an aircraft, consisting of wheels, skids, or floats, that supports the aircraft on the ground or water and allows for takeoff and landing. It absorbs the impact of landing and provides mobility during ground operations. Most modern aircraft use retractable landing gear to reduce aerodynamic drag during flight.
