Microbore
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-003636
A central heating pipework system that uses narrow copper tube, commonly 8 mm or 10 mm in outside diameter, run from a manifold to each radiator instead of through large flow and return mains. The narrow tubes resist flow strongly, so the pump must develop a higher head than on conventional pipework. Conventional small-bore systems use 15 mm and 22 mm tube for the main runs.
