Under square
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-006320
Describing an internal combustion engine design where the cylinder bore diameter is smaller than the piston's stroke length. This long-stroke configuration produces strong low-end torque and is favored for applications where pulling power at lower revolutions per minute is a priority, such as in trucks and cruisers. An engine with an 86 mm bore and a 91 mm stroke is an example of an under-square design.
