Mill bar

A semi-finished length of metal, such as steel or aluminum, that has been formed by passing it through a rolling mill. It has a simple cross-section, like a square, round, or rectangle, and serves as the raw material for further processing, such as forging, machining, or extrusion. Mill bars are produced to standard dimensional tolerances and are distinct from finished bars that have undergone additional processing for a smoother surface or tighter dimensions.
