Bar

A solid piece of metal, such as steel, aluminum, or brass, produced in a long, straight form with a uniform cross-section. The cross-section can be round, square, hexagonal, or rectangular (flat), and the material is intended for further machining, forging, or fabrication. Bar is distinguished from plate and sheet by its thickness and from billet by its greater length and smaller cross-sectional area.
