Cold roll

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-001227

To process metal by passing it through a pair of rollers at a temperature below its recrystallization point. This plastic deformation process increases the metal's strength and hardness through strain hardening and produces a superior surface finish and tighter dimensional tolerances. Cold rolling is a finishing process applied to sheet, strip, bar, and rod products that have already been hot rolled.
