Hot rolling
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-002897
A metal forming process where metal is heated above its recrystallization temperature and then passed between rollers to reduce its thickness and achieve a desired shape. This process allows for large deformations with relatively low forces and improves the material's ductility. Hot rolling is commonly used to produce sheet metal, structural shapes, and rails.
