Cold rolling
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-001228
A metal forming process where metal is passed through rollers at room temperature, below its recrystallization temperature. This process reduces the thickness of the metal, improves its surface finish, and increases its strength and hardness through strain hardening. Cold rolled products exhibit tighter dimensional tolerances and superior surface quality compared to hot rolled materials.
