Nacelle

The cover housing that sits atop the tower of a horizontal-axis wind turbine, enclosing the main operational components. This structure contains the gearbox, generator, drive train, and brake assembly, protecting them from environmental elements. The nacelle is also fitted with instruments like an anemometer and a wind vane to monitor conditions and orient the rotor into the wind for maximum energy capture.
