Overkill

The application of excessive force, resources, or complexity to a task beyond what is necessary to achieve the desired outcome. This can result in wasted materials, increased production costs, or unnecessary design features. For example, using a machine with a 100-ton capacity to press a component that only requires 10 tons of force represents overkill.
