Parachute

A device designed to slow the descent of an object or person through an atmosphere by creating aerodynamic drag. It typically consists of a canopy made of fabric, lines connecting the canopy to a harness or load, and a deployment mechanism. Parachutes are classified by their shape, such as round, square, or ram-air designs, each offering different performance characteristics for descent rate and maneuverability.
