Parasite

An aircraft that is carried aloft and launched in flight by a larger mother ship or carrier aircraft. The parasite aircraft relies on the carrier for transport to a specific altitude or location before being released to complete its own mission, which could be reconnaissance, attack, or research. Historical examples include the McDonnell XF-85 Goblin fighter, which was designed to be deployed from the bomb bay of a Convair B-36 bomber.
