Patcher

A miner or machine operator whose job is to perform small-scale, localized extraction of ore or coal. This work involves mining small, isolated deposits, known as patches, that were missed during primary extraction or are not economical to mine with large-scale methods. Patching can also refer to the process of repairing or reinforcing mine supports and structures.
