Pâte de verre
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-004169
A glassmaking technique that involves crushing glass into a fine powder, mixing it with a binder and coloring agents, and then packing it into a mold. The mold is then fired in a kiln at a temperature sufficient to fuse the glass particles without fully melting them. This process results in objects with a distinctive matte finish and often intricate detail, differing from blown or cast glass.
