Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-004215

A type of electrolyte membrane used in fuel cells and electrolyzers, typically made from a fluoropolymer material. This membrane conducts protons while acting as an electronic insulator, separating the anode and cathode compartments. Proton exchange membranes are central to the operation of proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs).
