Pig farm

An agricultural operation that raises and breeds domestic pigs, mainly for pork, bacon and ham. Facilities handle the animals through farrowing, nursery and finishing stages, either in buildings or on outdoor pasture. Under US Clean Water Act rules, a large concentrated animal feeding operation is one confining 2,500 or more pigs weighing 55 pounds or more, or 10,000 or more pigs below that weight.
