Presser foot

An attachment for a sewing machine that holds fabric flat against the feed dogs, which are the toothed mechanisms that pull the material through the machine. It applies downward pressure on the fabric as it is being stitched, providing control for straight and even seams. Different types of presser feet are available for specific tasks, such as sewing zippers, creating buttonholes, or quilting.
