Printer's ream

A ream of 516 sheets, equal to 21 and a half quires of 24 sheets, which paper mills once supplied to printers so that the extra 16 sheets would cover spoilage during makeready and printing. The term is dated British usage, and the printer's ream contrasts with the 500-sheet commercial ream and the 480-sheet short ream.
