Thermal printer

A printer that produces an image by selectively heating coated thermal paper, causing it to change color in the heated areas. Direct thermal printers use heat-sensitive paper, while thermal transfer printers use a heated printhead to melt wax or resin from a ribbon onto ordinary paper. These printers are commonly used for receipts, labels, and barcodes.
