Rack rate

The official, non-discounted price for a service, such as freight transportation or warehousing, before any negotiations, volume discounts, or special promotions are applied. This published rate serves as a baseline for pricing and is the highest price a customer would be expected to pay. Contractual agreements and high-volume shippers almost always receive rates substantially lower than the published rack rate.
