Random access memory

A type of computer memory that allows data to be read from or written to any memory location in approximately the same amount of time, regardless of its physical location. RAM is volatile, meaning it loses its stored information when power is removed. Modern computers typically use dynamic random access memory (DRAM) for their main system memory.
