Reglet

A thin, flat strip of wood or metal used in letterpress printing to create spacing between lines of type or around blocks. These non-printing elements are cut to specific point sizes to achieve desired typographic layouts and prevent type from shifting. Reglets are distinct from leads, which are thinner strips used for smaller line spacing adjustments.
