Run on
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-004991
A printing instruction indicating that a new section of text should follow immediately after the preceding text without a paragraph break or new line. This is used to save space or to maintain continuity in certain types of publications. It contrasts with a 'run around' which involves text flowing around an image.
The interval during which a power saw or similar tool keeps turning after its power is switched off, as the blade or spindle coasts to a stop. The blade can still injure the operator during this time. Many circular saws and miter saws add an electric brake to cut it to a few seconds.
