Scroll
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-005099
A type of positive displacement pump or compressor that uses two interleaved spiral-shaped scrolls to compress or pump fluids. One scroll remains stationary while the other orbits eccentrically, trapping and compressing the fluid in progressively smaller pockets. This design provides a continuous, pulsation-free flow and is often used in refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
