Shock absorption

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-005227

The process by which a vehicle's suspension system dissipates kinetic energy from road irregularities, converting it into heat. This action reduces the transmission of bumps and vibrations to the vehicle's chassis and occupants, improving ride comfort and maintaining tire contact with the road. Shock absorbers, often hydraulic or gas-filled, are the primary components responsible for this function.
