The undesirable visibility of printed text or images from the reverse side of a sheet of paper. This occurs when the paper is too thin, too transparent, or when excessive ink penetration happens. It reduces the legibility and aesthetic quality of the printed material, often requiring thicker paper stock to mitigate.
