An abbreviation for short long arms, a type of independent suspension design using two unequal-length, A-shaped control arms to locate the wheel. The upper arm is shorter than the lower arm, a geometry that controls wheel camber change during suspension travel to keep the tire tread flat on the road surface. This configuration is also known as a double wishbone suspension.
