Supercharge
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-005773
To force more air into an internal combustion engine's cylinders than atmospheric pressure alone would allow, thereby increasing power output. This is achieved using a supercharger, a compressor driven directly by the engine's crankshaft via a belt. Superchargers typically provide a power increase of 30% to 50%.
