Torque converter

A fluid coupling that transfers rotational power from an engine to a transmission, allowing the engine to spin independently of the transmission input shaft. It also provides torque multiplication at low engine speeds, acting as a variable-ratio fluid clutch. Torque converters are commonly found in automatic transmissions.
