Tracklifting

The process of raising the vertical profile of a railway track, either in sections or along its entire length. This is done to restore the track's design elevation, improve drainage, or insert additional layers of ballast during maintenance or renewal operations. Specialized machinery, such as a tamper or a dedicated track-lifting machine, is used to perform the lift with precision.
