Trunkline

A primary route or main line within a transportation network, such as a major highway, railway, or pipeline, designed to carry a high volume of traffic or material over long distances. These lines form the backbone of a system, connecting major population centers or industrial hubs. Feeder lines typically connect to trunklines to distribute or collect traffic.
