Valance

A panel located below the main bodywork at the front or rear of a vehicle, typically beneath the bumper. A front valance can direct airflow for cooling the engine and brakes or to improve aerodynamics by reducing underbody turbulence. Rear valances are primarily stylistic, filling the space below the bumper and sometimes incorporating cutouts for exhaust tips.
