WOF
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-006642
A semiconductor handling format, usually read as wafer on frame, in which a wafer is mounted on adhesive dicing tape stretched across a metal or plastic frame. The tape holds the wafer through sawing and keeps the separated dies in place for pick-and-place, while the frame lets automated equipment handle the wafer. Thinned, fragile wafers are mounted this way before singulation to avoid breakage.
