Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-006658
A type of gear drive consisting of a threaded shaft (the worm) that meshes with a toothed wheel (the worm wheel or gear). This configuration provides a high gear ratio in a compact space and offers a self-locking feature, preventing the worm wheel from driving the worm.
