Action levels

Predetermined thresholds or concentrations of a hazardous substance or pollutant that, when exceeded, trigger specific regulatory responses or require corrective measures. These levels are established by environmental agencies to protect public health and the environment. Exceeding an action level often necessitates further investigation, remediation, or reporting to authorities.
