Act of God

An event arising from natural causes without any human intervention that could not have been prevented by reasonable foresight or care. Such events include floods, earthquakes, tornadoes, and lightning strikes. In property insurance, whether a loss from an act of God is covered depends on the specific perils named in the policy or if the policy provides all-risks coverage.
