Bulk reserves

An aggregate amount of funds set aside by an insurer to cover potential future claim payments that are not yet specifically identified or individually estimated. These reserves account for adverse development on known claims, claims incurred but not reported (IBNR), and other uncertainties in loss estimation. They are a component of an insurer's total loss reserves, alongside case reserves and IBNR reserves.
