A location where a waste generator consolidates regulated waste, such as medical or hazardous waste, brought together from the places where it was originally produced, before it is treated, stored or shipped for disposal. A hospital might gather waste from several wards at one such point. It differs from the point of generation, where the waste first arises, and from an off-site treatment or disposal facility.
