Waste material that poses a substantial or potential threat to public health or the environment due to its chemical, physical, or biological properties. It can be ignitable, corrosive, reactive, or toxic. The Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) regulates the generation, transportation, treatment, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste.
