Best demonstrated available technology (BDAT)

A standard established by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) for the treatment of hazardous wastes. BDAT identifies the most effective treatment technologies that are commercially available for specific waste streams. Facilities handling hazardous waste must use BDAT or achieve equivalent treatment standards before disposal.
