Compacts, Access, and Responsible Expansion (CARE) Act

A proposed federal bill, introduced in several sessions of Congress, that would set up a grant program run by the Department of Health and Human Services to support state participation in interstate licensure compacts for mental health professionals. Such compacts let a counselor, psychologist, or social worker licensed in one member state practice in the others. It concerns professional licensure portability, not the sale of insurance policies across state lines.
