Enforcement decision document (EDD)

A Superfund document in which the EPA records and explains its selection of a cleanup remedy at a site where the responsible parties, rather than the Superfund trust fund, will carry out the work. It is the counterpart of a Record of Decision for fund-financed cleanups and shows that the chosen remedy is consistent with CERCLA and the National Contingency Plan. Its required contents differ from those of a Record of Decision.
