Gross negligence

A conscious and voluntary disregard of the need to use reasonable care, which is likely to cause foreseeable grave injury or harm to persons, property, or both. It is a more severe form of negligence, demonstrating a reckless indifference to the safety or rights of others. Insurance policies may exclude coverage for damages arising from acts of gross negligence, particularly in liability contexts.
