Intrafamily immunity

A legal doctrine that historically prevented family members from suing each other for certain torts, such as negligence. This immunity was often applied to spouses and parents/children, limiting claims that could be made against family members' liability insurance policies. Many jurisdictions have abolished or significantly limited this doctrine over time.
