Multiple coordinated policies
Term · Insurance and risk management · MLC-T-INS-002252
A risk management arrangement where an entity holds several separate insurance policies designed to work in concert to cover a large or complex set of exposures. The policies are structured through provisions like "other insurance" clauses to specify the order of payment and prevent both coverage gaps and duplicate recovery for a single loss. A common example is a primary general liability policy combined with one or more layers of excess or umbrella liability policies to achieve a high total limit.
