Anti-stacking provisions

Clauses in an insurance policy that prevent an insured from combining or accumulating the limits of liability from multiple policies or multiple coverages within a single policy for a single loss. These provisions are common in auto insurance, where they restrict an insured from stacking uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage limits from several vehicles or policies. They are designed to limit the insurer's maximum payout for a single occurrence.
