Any mechanism or system installed in a vehicle or property designed to deter theft or aid in its recovery. Examples include car alarms, tracking systems, immobilizers, and steering wheel locks. Many auto insurance policies offer discounts for vehicles equipped with approved antitheft devices, as they reduce the risk of theft.
