Anti-concurrent cause provision (ACC)

A clause in an insurance policy that excludes coverage when a loss is caused by two or more perils simultaneously, and at least one of those perils is specifically excluded, regardless of which peril initiated the loss. This provision prevents coverage for losses that might otherwise be covered if an excluded peril contributed to the damage. It is frequently found in property insurance policies to limit exposure to certain types of catastrophic events.
